Chicago Hood Cleaning
Restaurant owners and managers depend on hood cleaning companies to maintain their kitchen exhaust system and prevent fires. This work is often dangerous and dirty, so these professionals wear specialized protective gear to stay safe. They also use food safe chemicals and hot water power washing to clean the entire kitchen exhaust system from the hood, vents, fans and ductwork.
The job requires frequent cleaning of the filters, vents and fan as well as the exhaust duct that runs from the hood to the roof. It is vital that this work is done regularly to keep the restaurant in compliance with local fire codes. The company may be required to inspect the system after each cleaning.
Chicago Hood Cleaning: Protecting Restaurants with Superior Service
Chicago Hood Cleaning: The first step is to cover adjacent equipment and floors with plastic sheets to avoid damage or contamination. Next, technicians turn off the power supply to the hood and the fan to detach it. They then dismantle the exhaust fan motor, pull out the fan blades and separate the components of the ductwork. Cleaning: Once the hood is detachable, technicians spray the ductwork with hot water and food grade chemicals. They remove the hood filters, wash the plenum area, wipe down surfaces and clean removable grease trays. They then rinse the hood and fan and return it to its place in the exhaust system.
Professionals clear away sticky grease clogs to allow the air flow in the kitchen, which reduces smoke, smells and humidity and improves ventilation. They also test fans and vents to make sure they are working properly, which helps keep the business safe.
